The French Ambassador, Francois Pujolas, has eulogized the late former Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah- Arthur and described him as a great statesman who would be missed.
The French Ambassador noted that the demise of the former Vice President, came as shock to him and his wife.
Mr Pujolas was speaking during the celebration of French National Day at his residence in Accra.
He also spoke on the sudden demise of renowned Ghanaian Professor Atukwei Okai, who died after a short illness on Friday 13 July.
He noted that he knew the two eminent Ghanaians personally and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
“The former Vice President is a statesman that would be missed and Atukwei Okai, whose sudden death also came as a shock, I must say was a very important personality, a true Pan Africanist, an iconic poet of this country and a beaming personality, who was full of life.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur will be laid in state on Thursday, 26th July 2018 from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
This will be followed by a burial service which will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in Accra on Friday, 27th July 2018.
The interment for Mr. Amissah Arthur will however be by special invitation. A thanksgiving service is expected to be held on Sunday 29th July 2018 at the Calvary Methodist Church in Accra.
