Excited Hearts of Oak Fans Eulogize The Club

It has been 12 years (2008/9) since Accra Hearts of Oak won the Ghana Premier League.
Accra Hearts of Oak clashed with Liberty Professional at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday 11th July 2021 to end the title drought that has characterized the Club for so many years.
Hearts and Liberty played 1:1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts needed Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s match results to be crowned League Champions. Asante Kotoko lost to Bechem United by 2-1.
Accra Hearts of Oak sit at the top of the league with 61 points, which is the most they have gained so far in the last 12 years.
The historic victory has excited Accra Hearts of Oak fans and I took to the streets to speak to fans after the victory.
As an Accra Hearts of Oak fan myself, I was excited and exuberated throughout the night of the win. My mood was due to the fact that winning the league means we will be making a return to the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Competition for the first time in a decade since the team won the 2000 CAF champions league.
I walked through the streets of Dansoman, Accra to ask Die-Hard Accra Hearts of Oak supporters about how they feel about winning the Ghana Premier League.
Mr. Gabriel Ayi-Bonte, a die-hard supporter since 1967, disclosed that the team deserved to win the league this season.
‘‘They have done well, I am charged up,’’ he said. He justified the need for his darling club to win the league.
He added “the club is one of the most successful clubs in the Premier League, we are the Phobians and we never say die. We were nicknamed the Rainbow club in the year 2000 when we conquered the African Continent. We will repeat what happened in the year 2000/1 when we won the trio thus the GPL, FA, CAchampions /Super Cup.’’
Mr. Okine, another die-hard supporter said he is the happiest man and believes that a black man is capable of managing his own affairs, if he put his heart and mind to it.
According to him, Samuel Boadu is such an example of a coach who takes a team and gives it such tangible transformation and deserves a reward for it.
He explained that he has made the club, the supporters, and himself proud. He concluded by saying, our rivals cannot beat us so they should join and support us win the CAF champions, that is our focus and goal now.
I interacted with Mr. Annettey, another Phobia fan, who hails from Osu. He was full of glowing joy and excitement.
He emphasized the fact their team is the continental club masters and that the glorious Accra Hearts of Oak will continue to win the league back to back referring to the hay days when they won six consecutive league trophies from 1990 to 1999 with the 64 battalions squad where they paraded the likes of Captain Netey, Adja Tetteh, Sammy Adjei, Joe Fameyes, Yaw Preko Sammy Kuffour among others.
He reiterated that it is divine that hearts of oak have won his 21st league trophy in the year 2021 with the ending 21 digits.
Mr. Annetey continued by stating that they will win their 22nd next year in the year 2022 in the year of our Lord, and then winning their 23rd in the following year which will be 2023. Phobia they say masters is undoubtedly the most successful club in the country not only with age but also with achievements, such as winning all trophies on the continent of Africa.
I met a young exuberant gentleman by the name of Mr. Moore. With exuberance he talked about how the team beat their all-time rival Asante Kotoko by a lone goal, cementing them to the top of the league log by 3 points clear off Asante which abled them to win.
Mr. Moore explained that they have been eager to win a trophy and the best time is when they will conquer Africa once again.
He pleaded with management to do well to maintain the current squad, and also augment the club with better players that can help them conquer Africa and the world again.
