A one day conference to review the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on travel and tourism, specifically and the Ghanaian economy, generally, will be held in Accra on Wednesday, August 25, 2021
Organized by Earth Rights Ghana, a non-governmental organization working in tourism and environment, in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the conference is on the theme, “Sustaining Tourism Beyond Covid 19”.
It will be held at the Accra Tourist Information Centre for a limited number of invited key stakeholders and will be Zoomed live for virtual participation, especially by tourism authorities from other West African countries.
The hybrid (physical & Virtual) event would enable stakeholders across West Africa in the Travel and Tourism industry to participate via Zoom.
Key presentations by policymakers on the theme by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the regulator, Ghana Tourism Authority, aviation authorities, the private sector, represented by the Ghana Tourism Federation and the Ghana Hotels Association.
The objective of the conference is to enable stakeholders in the tourism and travel industry to converge and review the effect of the pandemic, generally on the industry.
‘‘The Ghana Conference on Covid and Tourism’’ is set to provide an opportunity for industry players to brainstorm on strategies and also seek the way forward for the industry and the country as a whole.
It would provide a platform for key stakeholders to ascertain how it has affected the industry, and how it is being handled by policymakers, regulators, investors, the private sector, and the national revenue authorities.
