BOGUS UN REPORT ON GLOBAL HAPPINESS RANKS SOMALIA ABOVE FLOURISHING RWANDA

In the 2019 World Happiness Report (WHR), Somalia, a country that has been at war since 1991, ranked above Rwanda, an emerging star of sustainable development and stability in Africa.

With the war-torn Somalia, home of the murderous militant group Al-Shabab and having suffered numerous mass-casualty bombings in recent years ranking 13th happiest country in Africa and 112 globally with overall score of 4.668, Rwanda, which has turned its darkest past into a shining example of what possibilities lie ahead for a stable African country, was ranked 41st in Africa and 152 globally with a score of 3.334.

Port Louis, Mauritius

Mauritius, a paradise island in the middle of the Indian Ocean rightly scores highest among its African peers and came 57th globally with a score of 5.888.

Researchers with the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network have been creating the annual happiness report since 2012, based on global data from Gallup.  The happiness scores were determined by six main variables on a three-year average:

  • GDP per capita
  • Healthy life expectancy at birth
  • Social support from friends and family
  • Freedom to make life choices
  • Generosity in the form of donations to charity
  • Perceptions of government corruption

 

Rounding up the top ten happiest countries in Africa, according to WHR, are:

  1. Mauritius
  2. Libya
  3. Nigeria
  4. Morocco
  5. Cameroon
  6. Ghana
  7. Ivory Coast
  8. Benin
  9. Congo Brazzaville
  10. Gabon

The bottom ten happiest countries in Africa are:

35 Madagascar

36 Lesotho

37 Burundi

38 Zimbabwe

39 Botswana

40 Malawi

41 Rwanda (152 global rankings) 3.334 score

  1. Tanzania
  2. Central African Republic
  3. South Sudan(2.853 score)

Globally, Finland ranked number one most happiest country on the planet.  The top ten happiest countries worldwide, per WHR, are:
